Fees

Self-Funding Fees

If you are paying for your own treatment you will be asked to settle the account following your out patient consultation with Mr Neen. You can do so via electronic transfer or cheque. Currently we do not have the facilities to take card payment over the phone. Prior to any inpatient procedures a 'package price' will be provided by KIMS Hospital or Benenden Hospital which will include Mr Neen's fee, anaesthetist and hospital fee. The hospital will require settlement of the bill prior to any inpatient treatment.

Insured patients

Mr Neen is covered by all major insurance companies. If you are insured, please contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to clarify what your policy covers and to ensure they will authorise your claim. Once you have received pre-authorisation for your consultation and/or treatment please let Mr Neen's secretary or the hospital know in advance of your first appointment. If your insurance company provides you with a new authorisation number during your treatment, please let us know this as soon as possible.

Patients with non-UK based insurance will be asked to pay on the day of treatment. Receipts will be provided so that you are able to claim costs back from your insurance company.

Mr Neen's fees

New consultation - £220

Follow up consultation - £150

Tests and their Cost

Following your initial consultation, further tests may be recommended, specifically: an x-ray, MRI and/or Ultrasound scan. The purpose of these would be to gain more information about what is causing your symptoms and how to treat the problem effectively. We are happy to work with the information from a clinical “working diagnosis” alone if you wish, and if things do not improve, then we can organise those investigations at that stage. Please consider your options carefully.

As the tests recommended are undertaken by the clinic/hospital and not by us, then the fees for those tests will be determined by the clinic/hospital and charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately. Sometimes other consultants will also be involved in those tests (an example being a radiologist reporting on an MRI scan), with their fees being included in the fee the clinic/hospital charges to you.

We would like to see you again for a further appointment to discuss the results of the tests we have recommended. Our fees for follow-up appointments are a maximum of £150.

Please note that unless otherwise advised, the fees detailed above do not include details of any further tests or treatment subsequently recommended or carried out such as steroid injections for example.

Cancellation Policy

Ideally we require as much notice if you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

If you do not attend your appointment, a cancellation fee of 50% of the self-funding fee (£110 for an initial consultation and £75 for follow-up)  will be charged if less than 24hrs notice has been given.

If you are insured, most insurers will not cover this fee and it will be due directly from yourself.

Consultation

A consultation, either held face to face, virtually via computer or on the telephone constitutes as a consultation and are not free of charge. Follow-up consultations may be arranged automatically via Mr Neen's secretary or via the hospital following treatment such as diagnostic imaging and tests, steroid injections and physiotherapy to provide continuous care of your treatment and to ascertain if further treatment is required. If you do not require the follow-up, a minimum of 24hrs cancellation notice must be given, or the consultation will require payment. If your insurance company will not cover the consultation fee, payment will be due directly from yourself.

Payment Terms

Payment for all private patients, self-funding or where excess funds for insured patients are due are 14 days from date of issue. If you are having trouble paying your bill please contact Mr Neen's secretary to discuss your situation in the first instance. In the event of late or non-payment, Neen Medical Services Ltd reserves the right to charge a collection fee equivalent to 25% of the balance outstanding as per The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.Failure to pay may result in the account being placed with a debt collection agency. A note will also be made on the KIMS database of non-payment.
